Workshop Information

With 17 hours of classroom instruction,Level 1 workshops prepare educators new to the IB Diploma curriculum, and Level 2 and 3 workshops are beneficial to experienced educators. Optional evening presentations are offered on IB topics of general interest.

Level 1 workshops are for those from schools who have decided to apply for IB authorization. Experienced IB educators in applicant schools may attend these workshops to help their school with the application process.

Level 2 workshops are for educators who have completed Level 1 training and/or whose autrhorized schools have begun the IB program.

Level 3 workshops cover topics of interest to both new and advanced IB educators.

Workshops for 9th & 10th Grade Teachers
In addition to the IB workshops, professional development workshops are offered for teachers preparing 9th and 10th grade students in English, History, and Science. These workshops are offered specifically for 9th and 10th grade teachers who are preparing students for possible entry into an IB Diploma Program. These workshops are not intended to train teachers to instruct the subjects in the IB Diploma Program.

Workshop Confirmation
We will e-mail confirmation of workshop registration within three weeks of a valid registration. It is advisable to wait until you receive confirmation of workshop registration before booking airline tickets. Prior to the workshop, a second mailing will be sent to registrants with general information and a workshop abstract from the workshop leader.

Workshop Preparation
Before attending the workshops, you should read the Internal Assessment Booklets, Past Exams and Markschemes. If you need to order these publications, they can be purchased from the IB Store.

Limited quantities of some IB publications will be available for purchase during the workshops.

Workshop and Room Check-in Times
Check-In and Registration in the Montezuma Castle Lobby on Monday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. (Late check-ins will be handled Tuesday morning.)

Workshops start on Monday evening with a General Session at 7:30pm. The final session concludes on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Shuttle departs for Albuquerque Airport at 10:30 am on Friday for a flight at 2:30 pm and after.
